Bridge of Hope
- Lebanon County
is part of a
national
organization that
brings together
professional
staff and trained
church-based
mentoring groups
to empower
homeless and
at-risk single
mothers to
attain: permanent
housing,
financial
self-sufficiency
through
employment,
life-changing
friendships,
increased
self-esteem and
growth in areas
of holistic
living.
St. Andrews
supports Bridge
of Hope
financially as
well as having
the county's
first mentoring
group.
Lebanon County
Christian
Ministries is
a community
organization
which seeks to
meet the needs of
disadvantaged
people through
financial
assistance with
utility bills,
rent assistance,
food and
clothing, the
Free Noon Meal,
and counseling in
financial and
spiritual
matters.
St. Andrews
contributes
financially as
well as having
members who
volunteer
regularly.
Periodic work
days are
scheduled at the
L.C.C.M.
building.
St. Andrews
collects
non-perishable
foods and
"necessary items"
on an ongoing
basis at the
church.
Currently 2
members serve on
the Board of
Directors.
Habitat for
Humanity
International is
a nonprofit,
ecumenical
Christian housing
ministry.
HFH seeks to
eliminate poverty
housing and
homelessness from
the world, and to
make decent
shelter a matter
of conscience and
action.
Habitat has built
more than 175,000
houses around the
world, providing
more than 750,000
people in more
than 3,000
communities with
safe, decent,
affordable
shelter. In
2005 more than 1
million people
will be sheltered
by Habitat
houses.
St. Andrews
supports Habitat
through financial
contributions and
periodic "work
days" on a
Habitat house.
St. Andrews has
committed to
partnering with
other local
churches in "The
Apostle Build."
