Ushering and greeting are a crucial part of the complete ministry program.

Here are a few reminders and suggestions:

- Your smile will be the first that a visitor to St. Andrews will see.  Thanks for being mindful of that.

- During the first hymn or song, please close the doors to the Gathering Area and to the sanctuary.  Noise really carries!  Please be aware of this during any conversation you have in the narthex as well.

- Please count the worshippers and write the numbers in the book in the drawer of the table to the right of the sanctuary doors.

- Please be very aware of visitors.  If you don't know IF someone is a visitor, you might say "I don't believe I know you" or "I don't believe I know your name.  My name is ... It's good to meet you - we're glad you're worshipping with us today!"

- The Information Table is to the left of the sanctuary doors as you face them.  This should be stocked with Visitor bags which have the brochure, newsletter, etc.  Direct visitors there if you have a chance.  There are more visitor bags on the shelf above the coat rack area - please restock the table if necessary.

- Invite visitors to the Gathering Area for coffee and refreshments.

- If you think it would be helpful, introduce a visitor to someone else in the narthex, or someone already seated.

- Ask them to please leave an address when they sign the pew pad so we can send them a welcome letter.
