The Fresh Start (First Response Emergency Shelter for the Homeless) program has two parts. Lebanon County Christian Ministries (LCCM) provides daytime shelter for its guests, and assistance in locating and applying for housing, employment, training, childcare, etc. LCCM issues daily vouchers after interviews and vetting. Fifteen to thirty individuals, with half being children, find themselves in need of emergency shelter on any given day.

For the second part, overnight shelter, Fresh Start relies on its participating churches to provide the space and the volunteers necessary to house its homeless guests. St. Andrews is privileged to take part in this project twice a year. Beginning  April 22 and ending on May 6, we will again be hosting the shelter. Volunteers are needed to welcome and check-in guests from 8:15 pm to 9:15 pm and/or sleep overnight from 9:15 pm to 7:15 am.
